Our ancient building, just restored and renewed, is made up of 6 charming apartments, personalized and dedicated to the most famous horses, winners of the Palio. Each apartment faces the Tower Contrada and is furnished extremely tastefully in Tuscan style, with visible ridgepoles and small ridgepoles. They have an entrance, private bathroom, bedroom and combined kitchen-living room with all utensils (some of them have dishwashing machine too); every apartment has its own sat TV, air conditioning and heating, private safe.

Where we are
Casa Vacanze il Campo is located in the heart of the historical centre of the city, in the Tower Contrada (quarter), only 100 m from Piazza del Campo, described by G.G.Marquez as “the most beautiful square in the world”.
Casa Vacanze il Campo (which has a double entrance, one from Via di Salicotto n. 73 and one from Vicolo della Manna n. 12) faces a medieval quarter, where a few centuries ago, were located the storehouses utilized to cook and preserve the meat on salt. For this reason, probably, the quarter, one of the most ancient of the city, was called “Salicotto”, that in old Italian language means “cooked and salted meat”.
Inside the building, our guests can see 2 grottos (caves), probably Etruscan, and a well bored in the tufa. They were found during the restoration works.
We want to meet the requirements of the people who want to live a coloured and passionate city, immersing in the ‘contrada’ atmosphere and not giving up the holiday’s house comforts.

We give you free, on your arrival, a “Plan of the Events”, made and updated by us, where you can find all the events taking place in the city and in the surrounding area during your stay (with the information you need to be present).
